I had a 5 hour Trip today with My Good Friend Loran and his buddy Jason and both of their sons, Mitchell and Riley. I have been fishing with Loran now for many years and have watched his son grow from almost a toddler to now. Jason and his son Riley came last year as well. Those Dads are Dads. I mean really good ones. They have so much patience and fun with those 2 boys and that is what its all about.These kids caught some of the fish today by themselves, but if Dad hooked a good one, they let the kids reel it in.

This is the first trip I have taken since July. I hurt my back in March and couldn't really get over it , so I had major back surgery on Aug 20th. This is the first time I have been in my boat since Aug. I explained this to them before the trip, because ALL I could do was drive the boat where I thought there would be fish, from all my years of doing this. Until I heal up good, I probably can only do 1 trip a week.

They had to cast and bait their own hooks. Since BRYAN FRITZ got my Power Pole fixed, He owns Islands Outboard, anchoring was not an issue. I was still extremely tired at the end of the trip. Water was clear, fronts were all around, we got some rain and you will see the picture that caused us to only stay 5 hours. I did not want to put those kids in any questionable sea conditions. All of them caught fish. Riley caught the most ladyfish about 10 of those, but we got on some really good fish and Kept enough for a meal. The First fish, a nice trout was caught by Mitchell, followed by his Dad, Loran. The Next one after that Is Riley with his Dad, Jason. Again I had a great time and I hope they did too!
