I
had a 5 hour Trip today with Tammi and her 14 year old son Cole. We were
scheduled to fish on 3.20.2021, but due to the predicted winds tomorrow,
today was the better day. We had a 5 hour window starting at 11 am where
the winds were blowing hard at 15 Knots with some stronger gusts, from
the North Northwest. Air temps were in the upper 50's to about 68 degress.
Water temp was 62 most places we fished. Tomorrows winds were going to
be much stronger so today was a better choice.
Water
clarity was muddy at most places but stained in others. We started in
the Salt Ponds in Wassaw Sound, but we found another place out there that
was protected better. We ping ponged our way almost to the Savannah River
before we started getting bites. We did not have live shrimp, but we did
have some nice Mudminnows.
Cole
was a very well behaved young man and was patient. We finally got a few
bites and Cole was able to land 2 keeper Speckled Seatrout and his Mom
lost a good one at the boat. We did the best we could with the weather
conditions that were not very good. I enjoyed fishing with them both and
hope they visit again in late summer and or fall.
