Today
was strictly catch and release and despite the 15knot winds, we caught
quite a few nice size trout and a few bluefish and small Bonnethead sharks.
Water temp was 84.5° and the water was stained. We had the effects
of Hurricane Gustove and the Tidal influence of a new moon. Bait shrimp
is plentiful .

Capt.
Rick had a charter for Miss
Judy Charters. The wind was strong
at 15+ knots out of the south-soutwest today. Water temp was 83° and
clear if you could get out of the wind. We are in the influence of a new
moon, so we had extreme tides and swift current. This was a 4 hour trip
that started at 6:30 am, with high tide around 9:30. We caught and released
alot of small redfish, and kept a few trout and this bonnethead shark.
After high tide the bite slowed way down and we were not out long enough
to take advantage of the outgoing bite. The young lady below caught this
large bonnethead.

Capt.
Rick had a 8 hour scouting trip with friends ( Bill and Maria) from Floriday
for an upcoming Miss
Judy Charters Trip. We practiced
catch and release today. The catching wasn't quite as good as fridays,
due to the 15 knot west/soutwest wind. The water was a hot 85° and
muddied , but cleared to stained as the tide came in. We released a few
flounders, redfish and ladyfish and not as many trout. Bill hooked and
landed a 5 foot blacktip shark and a decent bonnethead shark as well.
Bill brought some cocaho minnows and showed me how to entice a trout out
of the grass with one. It was a fun day and we did have action most all
day.

Capt.
Rick had a 6 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. I cannot stress how
important it is to keep yourself hydrated. Drink Plenty of fluids! I had
a couple of neat guys that really knew how to fish! John and Keith from
the Atlanta area. Today was strictly catch and release. We started off
catching some nice keeper size trout, then a flounder or 2.
Keith
hooked something that stripped a good bit of line before going airborne
and we all agreed that it was a small tarpon, not a ladyfish. He spit
the hook on the Jump. Next drop produced alot of small Rat Redfish, then
some that were a bit bigger, probably a couple years old.
Next
move produced a beautiful redfish over 28 inches (Johns ). Then Keith
who was fishing a finger mullet got broken off on the intial strike run,
by a huge redfish. The drag was just a shade too tight for that hit. Keith
then had another hard hit and landed his Redfish that was 26 inches .
We also caught a few more flounder. Total catch and release of the day
was 5 flounder, 10 trout, 2 oversized redfish, 5 undersized redfish, a
couple croakers and a juvinile tarpon that released himself. All fish
caught on the Inticer cork from Midcoast products.

Capt.
Rick had a scouting trip for Miss
Judy Charters. Tom and I tried a
couple spots late on Tuesday evening just before dark and caught a few
small trout, had some breakoffs and released quite a few large ladyfish.
Good evening of fishing without pressure. All fish caught on the inticer
by Midcoast .

Capt.
Rick had a 5 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. I cannot stress how
important it is to consume plenty of fluids while you are on the water
in this heat. We have had a couple days in the high 90's with high humidity
and you will get dehydrated and not know it. The water temp was mid 80's
today and the wind was out of the southwest at about 5-10 knots. Water
clarity was excellent.
We
fished the last 3 hours of the incoming and the first 2 of the outgoing.
Kept 6 seatrout for a meal and released the rest. Missed a few hard bites
and lost a nice black drum or sheepshead at the boat. The bait shrimp
from ADAMS bait was excellent today. All fish were caught on live shrimp.

Capt.
Rick had a 8 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. This trip was postponed
from the 18th due to bad weather. Caught a few bonnet head sharks, some
bluefish and some redfish, and kept 8 trout for a nice meal. All fish
were caught on micro sized bait shrimp. The Largest trout measured a shade
over 22 inches and weighed 4lbs and 6 oz, and was caught on a black inticer. We
had a couple rods rigged with the cajun thunder, but by the end of the
trip, everyone was useing the inticer.
Water
temp was 83° and clear. Wind was stiff out of the West, Southwest.
Most all the action came on the last hour of the incoming tide.

Capt.
Rick had a 4 hour charter for Miss
Judy Charters. Had plenty of action
and caught and released quite a few small redfish as well as a pile of
ladyfish and 4 big bonnet head sharks today. All fish caught on live small
grass type shrimp. Hopefully the bait situation will improve in the next
couple of weeks. Water temp was 83° and the wind was about 5 knots
out of the east. We fished the outgoing, but I am sure we could have gotten
some much bigger trout on the incoming.

Capt.
